last night whilst driving home my front propshaft went on me..i have a 1998 land rover disco, its an r reg. i am a bit short on cash as its xmas, but i have found a 2nd hand 1994 propshaft and was wondering if it would fit. it dosnt look any different to mine but just wanna check as i cant really be without my car. especially over xmas.
cheers
becky

I'm pretty sure that it will fit.

If not, remove front prop and put the transfer box in diff lock and drive around on the rear prop. Be careful tho as a rear wheel drive Disco could get 'interesting'. :)

Very! Our back prop fooked itself so took it off and drove in front wheel drive.... Had wheel spin coming out of a junction

all i really need to do is try to get it outside my house as the AA recovery truck had to put it a bit further up the street. then we can get started as soon as the propshaft comes. trust it to happen just around the corner from my house at 1130 last night. dont think im popular with the neighbours :S haha.

Use the centre diff-lock and try to drive .. if it knocks badly then stop .. you're likely to fook something up .. take the prop off and try to drive again (with CDL on) and get it home.

Centre diff lock will send drive to back as well as front, so you can drive it for a short while at least.

thankyou :)we did try that yesterday, but there was loud knockin and the propshaft has wedged itself, lol.so we are gonna be removing it tomorrow. i hope the new one arrives soon. iv had to borrow my uncles car and after 4 years of driving land rovers, im finding it hard driving a zafira, lol. but im very greatful to him. im lost with out my landy lol.

its the gearbox end. the ball joint literally just rotted away. :s but the previous owner lived on a very muddy farm, and underneath it was covered on mud, so that cant really have helped. :s
