1988 3.5 V8 efeciency

Hi everyone,
I have the defender 3.5 V8, does about 12 miles per gallon which is rubbish! Is there away to improve it with any tuning or any add-ons.

About 30-32 mpg that's what I get but they are 125bhp but can be tuned very easily to reach more but you get a hell of alot more torque and.
 
Are you running lpg?? I just use it for road use then switch bk to petrol for off rding when I need that bit more grunt.. and at half the price of petrol, diesel it makes the mpg near enuf the same as a 300tdi but more fun and better sounding!!

But you can't go deep wading to easy with a v8
 
I've had a few Disco V8's and 12mpg for general use was about right. On a motorway run at 70mph you should get around 18mpg.

Getting a 300tdi now!!
