IMG_7341.PNG So, about 8 months ago today I made a rather risky decision and purchased a Series 3 109 2.25 petrol… My plan was to find something with an MOT, mechanically sound etc.. This one, unfortunately was not.
I started off with removing that terribly leaky bikini top that was almost as watertight as a paper towel, with a truck cab. Replaced the original tyres with insas, as they were severely cracked. The original paintwork was done with hammerite (I assume so, as it was the same horribly rubbery texture & peeled off), so I spent months sanding, prepping and then finally painting every bit of bodywork on there until it looked like a proper Series again. Luckily the chassis and bulkhead had not a single spot of rust, so I simply red oxide coated and applied a few coats of black paint to them. I started on the mechanics, taking apart the carb, giving it a good clean as it was clogged. Fixed the running on 3 cylinder problem, gave it a bit of a tune up and it hasn't let me down since. Starts on first turn of the key.
Pictures on the top are of when I first purchased it vs. The finished project..

Hello Elle and welcome, you've done a good job there but you need to be careful on here going around saying you are an 18 year old female learning new tricks. Many of us are old and have dodgy hearts. Keep up the good work.
