Hi, it's been a while since I had a Landy.
My last one which I had, had a lot of blood and sweat invested was stolen, never to be seen.
I bought an old 90 on a whim and as I don't use it often I was thinking of selling it. , I even advertised it .I was very surprised at the offers of immediate purchase sight unseen, but have had a change of heart. It has charmed me, its got a lot going for it but it's going to need a bit of chassis welding for the MOT.I reckon if I sold it I'd probably never get back in one , short of a really big spend.
The outrigger welding will put me back on the road while I contemplate what to do in the long run.
It wasn't long ago that an old 90 wouldnt have been worth doing a chassis swap on, but as the values increase it probably is now.
I suppose my questions are, was I offered good money after the advert because it's still on original chassis, and it was dealers thinking of exporting?
If I change the chassis next year will I be getting a future proof landy but ruining its value?
It's a petrol 2.25, if you were buying a new chassis would you change the engine , or is it better to keep original and accept the fact it'll never see 65 mph.
It's a dilemma.
I live inside the LEZ so it's 2003 or later for anything that's not reg as a station wagon , so the petrol suits TBH .
Any advice especially re chassis swap would be gratefully received
