Anything in particular that is likely to go wrong at this mileage?
It seems this engine is solid and is LPGed so does that mean it would have gone by now if it were worn or that its been looked after if its still going?

Thanks

Generally speaking I think that you are on the right track there. Personally my only concerns would be whether it's had regular oil changes & the LPG, do you know how long the car has run on gas?

It's a well maintained vehicle and certainly had plenty spent it seems.
Not sure about the LPG, I'll find out.

Clearly not very clear!
Gaskets have been done on the last 5 years possibly with some top end work too - still waiting for clarification.
Engine has done around 80K on LPG

I have heard of people doing the headgaskets when its actually the block that is at fault (especially after running hot on lpg), however as it was 5 years ago and presumably it has done a fair few miles in that time then it should be ok if its ok now.

Just bear in mind these arnt like modern engines which go on forever.

If you are lucky and its had a top end rebuild with new cam etc then thats good news too as they wear earlier than the bottom end.

Thanks Fett.
I know there is a fairly comprehensive file (but then they all say that!) so I'll have a good hunt through. It has been in "knowledgable " hands for the last few decade or so, so hopefully it will stack up.

set of shells and valve re-grind would be poor man's re-build

The fact that it's done 80k on the LPG without liner problems is a good sign, whatever you though do don't be tempted to 'lean off' the gas mix to try & gain a bit more mpg. It's a good idea to give it a run on petrol occasionally, some say you should always start up on it.

Thanks Norseman.
What would be the signs of these liner problems?
The LPG system is one of these where the tank is in place of the old petrol tank and there is a new smaller petrol tank elsewhere.
If I like i and buy it and its running fine I shan't be fiddling with anything to get a few more mpg!!
