Re-positing in new thread - Sorry. Bit off topic from original thread:)

The wiring for relay for 12S socket this doesn't look to complicated.;)

Towbar Split Charge Relay Wiring Kit - Self Switching Towing Relays Wiring Components and Accessories Towing Electrics Towing

Mate of mine got me to call his vehicle sparky, who said not need to run from the battery and battery box, there is a spare connector under the tub by the offside rear wheel. He would take all necessary connections for the 12s from there (for a fee of £50.) I want to make sure it right but.......

Anyone know about this? I do remember seeing a small socket a while ago. Tucked it out the way and its too wet to go look now.

Can find anyone else talking about wiring into this for the 12S:confused:

Basically this works by sensing the battery voltage to ensure power is only switched to the trailer when the starting battery is charged. My 90 has a spare purple wire behind the rear lights which is probably the one you're referring to. It's always better IMO to go direct to the battery for towbar wiring, as the relay is rated a 30A, and modern caravans can pull quite a bit of current. You don't want the wiring to be the weak link in the circuit or bad things can happen.

To be honest, this sort of relay makes installing the kit yourself simple enough. You'd just need to run a wire between the battery and the relay, an earth connection, and three wires from the 12S cable. What I would do is locate the relay in the battery compartment, and run a length of 12S cable straight from there to the towbar socket.
