110 v8 pop pop sound

Hello.
Jut recently my 1988 v8 110 im making a pop pop sound at start up
any clues were this is coming from. Strange smell of fuel but no leaks.

Think I have found the cause, the new rotor arm nearly fell apart now
rescrewed and seems okay.
