Please, please, please don't tell my SWMBO that such a thing even exists. We have to replace our kettle about once a year as it is with her rate of tea consumption. If she had one of those I'd have the water board leak detector squad outside my door.

the principle is quite simple. Ya have a "pot" with a filler on top with a tube that goes right to bottom of pot. and a spout at top of pot as you pour copld water into the bottom of the pot it pushes hotwater out of the top spout.

Hot water been less dense than cold water, will always rise to the top. just like an hotwater cylinder in an house.

Once water is boiling ya hold ya cup under spout and add cold water to filler. as soon as ya stop adding cold the hot stops flowing. :D

Just need to "miniturise an hotwater cylinder. "

a fire extingiusher would probably suit that job with a little modification, what do you heat the water with?

How ya gonna stop it from constantly dripping?

AND the water heater come to think of it.......the cold water will displace the hot out the spout leaving it 100% full....and then the cold water will begin to heat up and expand....

Gonna need a tap on the hot and an expansion tank above to feed in cold

Open system just have a pipe sticking out top to vent steam off . it's designed to sit on a gas ring or open fire. have seen one at a scout camp but that was a big thing made of stainless steel some one had fabbed up.
