Right i,ve went and bought a 110 csw to replace ma wee 90. Phoned up today for insurance quotes and was told it was a pick up truck and it cant have seats for 12.

After scratching ma head i checked and double checked that it was never a pick up...I phoned back and explained it has 5 doors has seats and is a station wagon.

Women then said it wasn,t insurable. Am i having a really daft moment  or am i missing something here??

My 90 is a van and is insured as one but this 110 has baffled me. I tried some different sites and some sites say van, some say pick up and some say car.....anyone had expernce off this?

what age is it.. Yu might wanna get rid of the rear seats as 12seats makes it a minibus.

7 seats is usually much easier to insure.

aye thats the plan, shes a 1998 last of the 300tdi,s i then said it had 5 seats and started to make sense wea her. But i,m confused to why they think its a pick up?...pick her up saturday first job is bench seats and belts gone!:D

What does the log book say?
Have you checked the VIN to see what it decodes as?
There are plenty of landys out there that have been converted or it could be that when it was registered the wrong info was put in the system.

Dont pick her up till saturday, its a country sation wagon allright. did checks on the vehicle reg, should of taken note of the vin number on the v5!:( school boy!

just been on comapre the market and station wagon style isn,t even listed as an option , i,ve went with other as none of the option fitted!

It could be a van or pickup that's been converted to appear as a CSW?
Also check EVERYTHING matches the V5, unlikely but could be a stolen CSW running on a rotten pickups plates.
Frank pickles are good, but will insist on a max of twelve seats (I'm insured with them).
Adrian flux will insure it as a 12 seater, but lots of complaints on here regarding service.
Good luck.

Checked the v5 last weekend, and all was in order, buying this from a dealer/trade so theoreticaly it should be all good. , if its a conversion its a fecking good one as i was al over this thing for over an hour!

Compare the market results are giving me quotes just over 500 quid fully comp, so i,m geting there i,ll check frank pickles out cheers!

My 110 SW with 9 seats in insured with Bell/Admiral/Elephant. I asked them to confirm how many seats they thought it had and there response was that they basically don't care as long as they know it is a 110 'Estate'. Obviously I have asked for it in writing mind. Just came back through on renewal for £850 on a TD5 (21 y/o with 18 month license + 1 year NCB). Flux etc wanted £2000+
Might be worth checking them out.

Yes Years ago a certain Land rover parts supplier from the Cannock area was paying £100 Apiece For a few Ex SAS Pink Panthers.
Then promptly stripping them down and converting them to station wagons:eek:

Apologies for my stupidity but what's a pink panther SAS vheicle?

Well tried a few more companies tonight and they are at least showing a 1998 5 door county station wagon!:) when they quote me!

however their quotes are a fecking discrace, i,m 31 wea 14 years experence with heavy and tracked vehicles, not 17 and living wea ma folks!

I just insured my new 200Tdi 110 CSW which officially has 12 seats. I've always used Lancaster but even they insure 7 seats max! My mate has one too and he insures his as a 12 seater but he says that adrian Flux and the NFU are the only ones that will do it.

BTW my insurance is £141 fully comp :p

Wow.
I thought I was doing well at £270 with frank pickles and that's with:
5k limited mileage
Mods (wheels, guards, snorkel etc)
Land rover Club member
And as a second car
I'll be giving Lancaster a call in June.
