I'm about to purchase a 2002 110 Crew Cab pick-up. I plan on converting her to a Utility and I have read that I will need to pick up some series '88 panels, a 110 roof and a rear door. This is fine. My question is weather it will be possible to remove the rear bulkhead after the conversion to gain more useful space in rear with the back row of seats removed. Would I need to install a bulkhead removal kit? Is there anything available for this?

Thanks in advance,
Quinlivan

Why not just buy a 110 hard top or a csw? Just stick seats and side windows in a hard top and there you go. Will be a hell of a lot easier and cheaper than doing what you want to do

I wouldn't feel comfortable fitting additional seats in a hard top plus it would only have 3 doors. I would convert a CSW but it can be very difficult (in Ireland) to get them to accept one of these conversions for the commercial road tax. There is landie breaker yard in Ireland and the guy there said he'll be able to get the panels for the conversion for 300 euro. So my only concern is the rear bulkhead. If it has to stay in place I can make peace with it but it would be nicer without.

Yes you'll need a bulkhead removal kit or something similiar to what csw's have. Fitting rear seats is easier than cutting apart a crew cab but suit yourself

Your original post is confusing. So you want to keep all of the doors and seats as per a csw but you want a hard top section for the rear? Why not just buy a csw and change the rear panels to 90 ones?

Apologies, I'm new to the forum. using series '88 van panels on a CSW was my original plan but after talking to a few people who have tried this in Ireland it seems that you're not always guaranteed to be granted commercial tax going this route. The crew cab I'm looking at is already a commercial vehicle so I only have to worry about the actual conversion process and avoid all the red tape involved in converting a CSW to commercial road tax. Hope this clears things up a bit.

Road tax in the roi is ridiculous, from memory commercial (van) road tax was 2 years ago €288. If you had a 3.5 v8 in a private it would be €3500. Quite a difference!
Also historic tax is €52 pper year. 25 years and older iirc.
Getting a change from private to commercial is a lot of money especially with the rise in cost of the doe (commercial mot).
I can see how the op will be in a much better position modding a crew cab, but I am not sure he will need a bulkhead removal bar as its a csw with bits added me the bulkhead.
I would suggest if possible op has a look at both types locally to establish what the difference is.

A commercial TD5 in Ireland is €333 per annum, privately it would be about €1300. Hence the importance of ensuring the vehicle is commercially taxed.

In ROI :

"Towing Vehicles - 80 km/h
Trucks (with a design gross weight of more than 3,500kg)
- Motorways - 90 km/h (since 1 April 2012)
- Other roads - 80 km/h"

So should be okay!
