My battery is dead as brushes on voltage reg worn out after 6 months/2k miles! Replaced that and batt light would suggest alt now working.

Have tried today to jump start with a fully charged jump pack. Turns over fine but won't start.
I then noticed my fuel tank is leaking
So thought maybe I had a fuel problem and it had drained back into fuel tank...
So undid bleed screw on fuel filter and primed lift pump.
Went back in to try and start. This time all I got was a click and then all dash/batt lights go off and its like the batt is not connected. Took the neg off battery and put on again and now i have dash lights again. Tried to start but same thing again. Did this maybe 10 times, disconnecting batt and reconnecting until it finally started to turn over again.

I had a feeling that operating lift pump first time had caused this so I pumped it couple more times to see, then went to start and same thing happened 5/6 times again where it would click and dash lights would go out. Until eventually it would stop doing that and start turning over again?

Anybody know what the hell is going on with that?!

I'm going to leave jump pack on charge all night and go out with it in the morning. Leave it connected to batt for couple mins before trying to start. But can't help but think I have another issue and not just a dead batt here.

Would be my thoughts to but why would it happen twice after I'd pumped the lift pump?

I also replaced starter 6 months ago, when that was dead it would click when you tried to start but I never needed to disconnect and reconnect the battery to be able to try and start again.

some peeps here say there is fuseable links in the dash board somewhere but i aint had to find em yet.i just replaced a duff starter and it had the same symptons of shorting out

Fully charged jump pack didn't help at all. Gonna buy a new battery first off as it got soaked when I went off roading last and think it shorted out so could be fcuked.

For my next problem..anyone know where the drain plug is on a 110 rear fuel tank?! Diagrams and logic would suggest on the bottom! But not as far as I can see, there are 2 holes in the stone guard covering tank, so would assume drain plug in 1 of them but there is nothing!! Do some cheapo replacement tanks not have a drain plug?!

Got it started. Was battery too dead, borrowed my dads batt charger and it fired up after a few hours on that. Still gotta sort leaky fuel tank and leaking coolant though and hopefully by the time I've done that nothing else will have broken!!
