11/12 seat defender question

What's the deal with driving the 11/12 seat defenders?

On the DVLA website, it sates that on a cat B licence, you can only drive a vehicle with upto 8 passenger seats. But it then goes on to say that a 16 seater minibus can be driven on a B licence, so long as it's NOT driven for a company and/or money.

So can you drive it on the B licence and class it as a private minibus??

Think its when you passed your test..us old timers can drive a 7.5t wagon....and drive a minibus.

That's another thing mate, I think the date was sometime in 97, if you passed before it you kept D1 and some other category, think it is C1??
