Im going to do a prima conversion in my 109

I have a 6 cylinder 109, is the chassis the same as the 109 4 cylinder

IE

Gearbox position, I know it has a different bellhousing on the gearbox but I have a 4 cylinder bellhousing to go on, am I missing anything in my understanding???????

I think the gearbox is further back, and the bulkhead/tunnel is different. You may just need to cut a couple of holes?

I have one in a Series one and had to change the bellhousing to fit to the adaptor plate, otherwise it went straight in. You may have to move the engine mounts as I believe the 6 cylinder ones are in a different position.

Great conversion mine goes like stink but doesn't have the low down torque so not very good for heavy towing.

Yep there are a few differences

engine mounts, gear box mounts, 2nd and gearbox crossmember are positioned differntly IIRC. The rest of it is the same.

basically the gearbox sits a bit further back to accomodate the longer engine

sorry I didn't make it very clear.

I meant the 2nd cross member if count from the front

If you phone up Richards chassis they will be able to tell you exactly. I had them make a new jig using a donor chassis to get the s2a 6 cylinder chassis reintroduced around easter last year so I could rebuild my one to spec rather than S3 spec (yes I am a rivit counter at times).

Cheers
Ben
