I think that's a great idea. I haven't got one and I'm not likely to get one but I'd like to read about other peoples :)

Hello Moderators!
Any more thoughts re a 101's and other FC's section? I'm planning to start a project/build thread on the build of my Cummins powered 101, and am not exactly sure where to place it.......
Cheers for now. Simon.

I'll make suitable sacrifices upon the altar, go into a trance and attempt to communicate with the LZ gods...

rather than a FC/101 section could we have a seperate section that covers all military models from series I right upto current wolf XD's. Everything FC/Ambulance/oddity would fit in there as long as its military

Only thing it wouldnt cover would be civvy FC's and ambulances etc but wouldnt they go under the relevant series section? (apart from the FC's maybe??)

That clouds the issue nicely :p:D

Thing is most military stuff fits in with whatever relevant civvy model apart from weird querky thing like military light switches (looked at the back of mine today :eek:)

101's and 2b have lots that is unique to anything else....

Probably

yeah fair point, i suppose there is EMLRA for really in depth geeky stuff. Although it can be a bit quiet over there and mainly focussed to build and kit rather than maintenance and repair although there are some awesome build threads by people with deeeeep pockets. Its not a bad forum to be fair, i have got some help with mil specific stuff all right over there.

i joined the EMLRA as it saved money on my insurance surprisingly. The amount saved was more than the membership!

and yeah i took the back of the mil light switch and promptly put it back on, sod fiddling with that abomination, all my wires were coloured the same

Mine are all yellow.......and the lighting wiring.....think the REME QuarterMaster must have weighed in all the other colours

Not sure how long I'll last on a forum who's software changes 'arse' to 'fufu' though :D:D

The researching history guide is useful though

yeah all mine are yellow, the loom to the back is all yellow aswell and the trailer plug and rear lights. Apparently they have a sleeve around each wire with details on it, but i have yet to find one. I am not going to fiddle with my wiring at all, everything works and the loom is uncut so i am not going to tempt fate lol by adding extra ****e in. CB will get a feed straight off the battery but that will be it.

yeah some good history on there, and loads of them have sheds full of NOS stuff and kit it seems. I am not about to military resto mine though and go to shows, just going to leave as is with non destructive upgrades

Had to chop out the back of my loom and redo to get the rear lights working......someone had lots of fun wiring in a trailer socket :doh:

Full set of working lights as of today though :)

Have we gone off topic?

Pictures fookin pictures lots of pictures:D where are the pictures:nopics::nopics::nopics::nopics::nopics::nopics::nopics::nopics::nopics::nopics::nopics::nopics::nopics::nopics::nopics::nopics::nopics::nopics::nopics::nopics::lol:

Ok ok!! That's why we need a 101 section!! Here's the Cummins and box still in the chassis rails of the truck it came out of!
