I'd fit one from a rangie or disco with electronic ignition. ISTR there's
an issue with the kind with the amp on the dizzy which is, I think, a
35DLM8; ideally you want the one from the earlier rangie where the amp is
separate in that case.

There are advantages in this approach - it's all standard parts and you do
away with the points, obviously (although the lumenition may not have points
either).

If it's just the mechanical parts that's buggered, I've got a few old
dizzies lying about if you know which one it is. Post the number on the
side, I may have the right one, and I've also got some Lumenition bits as
well, you're not far from me (Saddleworth).

Anyone got a suitable dizzy?

And be careful when you remove the pastic rota below the rota arm. I took a
look before bringing him up to you but the likelyhood of me snapping the
rota and Morph being stuck talked me out of the idea, at the time I just
wanted to check the advance and retard was fastened down correctly but I
aborted and quit while I was ahead.

I'm sure some kind soul must have the luminition fitting instructions
knocking about... all that I've picked up so far mentions a critical air gap
which I presume is between the rota blades and the sensor. It really is a
clever bit of kit! Painfully simple with no mechanical moving parts as such.

Nige, I've been thumbing through those mags Alan Hughes took to the
Unofficial, one has an advert from these who rebuild distributors, prices
quoted as "from£94.48 each" in 2002. Dunno if it's worth a look.
