1.8 Freelander

I am just about to go and testdrive a V plate 1.8 5 door freelander, can anyone tell me what I should be looking out for? Any reasons not to buy it? Any recommendations that I should buy it regardless...?

I would appreciate any help...

make up your own mind, but if you want a Freelander I would go for a diesel.

Hi Skinpig. . .like the name mate, any reason for that name?, oink oink ,however just my own opinion here ,the freelander is a great motor to drive, oink oink ,1.8 has had the dreaded H G problems in the past ,but then loads who drive them and don't have any problems at all,oink , but the better engine is the td4 get about 34 mpg some get more ,oink ,the best of the range is without a doubt the v6 but very poor mpg,its your call mate ,but they are all very good ,do your homework in deciding , [oink ,if you look in a site such as this you will see the slob story's, and people looking for help or advice], or just chat ,or some, just like a wind up, but ,some people are very devious and cunning and sometimes try to trick others on site with silly names like N Ramsbottom but us freelander boys know there tricks, we call them the tractor boys, they are full of sh*te ,so welcome to the freelander site. . .Ming
