04 Disco CD Autochanger not working - can anyone help please?

I have a Landmark 04 Disco with what I believe is the original 6 CD Autochanger under the drivers seat. The head unit detects when there is no magazine and after filling it with 6 CD's and inserting it the head unit states "CD Check" but always comes back with "No CD". Everytime I insert the magazine I am sure that previous autochangers I have had I could hear the first disk going into the player but this one does not. I have checked that the CD's are the right way up, any suggestions what else I can do? (Nice ones of course, ha ha).

My Kenwood did the same.. the wires were broke on the radio interface in the dash, behind the radio..

Try cleaning the laser, are you using genuine CD's or copies? copies are darker so the laser can struggle to read them unless it's clean.
