03 freelander dash upgrade to 04

hi guys,

i have been searching around these forums for quite a while now and would like to know if anyone has ever changed an 03 dashboard with the faclift 04 model. is it possible? will the match ?
would like to upgrade my freelander instead of buying a new one

proceed with extreme caution ! The later style instrument pods use CAN-BUS for their data, but the earlier ones used traditional sensor direct to pod signalling. There was a break point (I believe) where some of the later model pre-facelift dashboards used CAN-BUS too, but I don't know when it was.

I can't tell you how to tell either, but I know it has been an issue. The venerable and respected clutchdust knew about this, and there was a post or two.
