Pressure pump won't stop running even without the key in the ignition. I replaced the pressure reduction valve because it was licking and when I started the vehicle the pump won't stop. I know there should be air in the system but I did not have the time to bleed the system, and I wanted to test the cooling system because I also replaced the radiator. Do you think that bleeding the system will fix the issue?

Thanks for the help.

Check the relay, they are known to stick. what pressure reduction valve where? Don't leave it running.

The valve is beside the brake container close to the pump. here is a pic

I had to disconnect the battery.

If you got air in it then yes its trying to build up pressure take the relay out while you do your cooling system .

Pic didn't work, if it's a semi spherical lump, it's the device that maintains pressure not the pressure reduction valve.
Never mess with brakes unless you know what you are doing, the P38 brake system is more complex than a normal car. read up in RAVE how to bleed the barakes.

Well remember that my car is build for america, so in my case, if you look from the left side of the car, you'll see the pump and a little bit to the right you'll find the valve. It have a steel tube from the master cylinder and the other steel tube I really don't know where it goes. I beleive that in the RAVE it saids BPRV brake pressure reducing valve. Maybe in your car it is on the right side, close to the brake liquid tank.

I got rhd its on the drivers side under the header tank uk model .
You can remove the abs relay its shown in the fuse box compartment .
Do your cooling stuff . Leave it removed follow steps in rave for manual bleeding. Once you have done that and you get to the stage where you bleed any last air out with the pump via the brake nipples plug in your relay don't leave it running until you have bleed the system or you might burn it out .

If the ABS pump will not stop with ignition off the relay is stuck. The pressure reducing valve is fitted to reduce rear braking effort and transfer load to the front brakes. There is no reason the ABS pump should continuously run if a brake pipe has been changed and fluid lost from that pipe. You would get a bad pedal until the air is bled out but it would not cause the ABS pump to run continuously.

OK thanks, Will verify it.
