Afternoon!

Past year or so I've noticed a single loud knock occur occasionally when I go full lock, I think only when I turn right. Sounds as if it is coming from the front but can't really be sure. Sound almost like a suspension spring poping in and out but this happens on road so odd.

90 drives fine with no issues, none im aware of anyway...

Things changed/repaired around the front -
Terrafirma Std Steering Damper
Gwyn Lewis Disco steering conversion (removes that silly ball joint drop arm)
Swivel Bearings replaced - Timken
HD Steering Arms - One damaged track rod end (rubber boot is torn) - Got replacements to fit this weekend.
265/85/16 Cooper Discoverer STT Tyres

Can't think of any other info hopefully someone knows...

I wonder if it could be a CV joint? They tend to make a knocking noise on full lock as they get worn. Usually it's a continuous noise whose frequency depends on how fast the wheels are going round, but you can get more isolated knocks. I had one once that did this and one of the ball bearings had broken in half.

I had the same problem, turned out to be bolt warn on the radius arm, there was a ridge warn on the plain surface of the left hand front bolt, When I turned out of my driveway I had this clonk, as I said it was the front bolt. Hope this helps.

had a slight knock on my front offside CV when on full lock, or even partial lock.
put a big greasegun full of black molygrease in the hub and it made it better.
put another grease gun full in a year later, its almost gone, and hardly ever makes a sound now.
the noise started when i purchased my early disco,
7 years ago...

love it when good old fashioned servicing helps..

That could be it! Gigglepin did say that my rear radius arm bush is shot

Had a look at your Panhard bushes? Also did you check the shim gap under the circlip on the drive members, if the gap is excessive (shim not refitted) then the CV joint may be moving in the drive member and making the knocking noise?
