Really struggling to understand both the car and the pricetag..

Problems that stand out to me is primarily the 3000rpm stall converter I can sort of understand the reasoning if it was a TVR or some kind of performance car, but on a 2 ton brick,

Lowered/stiffer suspension for what reason I don't know, I know its to help the RRC's handling. although stock RRC and subsequent models ability to comfortably cope with the frankly **** roads in britian is what makes the RR so good.

Performance in itself seems rather lacklustre considering the rated HP, my 4.6 seems to pull just as strongly ;)

Oh and the EAS buttons on the dash that do nothing just a constant reminder you've payed more to go backwards!! £4000 for some stiff springs that make the ride unbearable, but you are capable of going around corners just that little bit faster!! ;)

Just my opinion ;)

My '87 Vogue had genuine LR anti-roll bars fitted by the PO. If I remember rightly they were factory fitted from the early 'nineties, could be retrofitted as far back as '86 models & the kit came with replacement coil springs as up to that time LR was fitting stiffer springs to try & counteract customer complaints of the car's handling.

The AR kit results in minimum roll when cornering & (allegedly) only 12-13mm of lost suspension travel.

The RRC and D1's handle very very well, if you know how to drive them.... So, I guess that nails that then..;)

A good friend of mine took me out in a sports car - round a "block" if you will, fast A-roads and country lanes... he was driving - I was, frankly, bored :D.

I then did the same journey with him in SWMBO's D1, and he was hanging on for dear life, and trying to brake in corners :D:D

Then I took him out in my tuned D1 ..... ;);)

I can only agree, completely different driving style required,I had many a "driver" trying to brake while their rrrrr's was trying to bite the passenger seat.;):D:D

James Hunt used to reckon you couldn't beat a Moggie for fun. Stick the later 1300 engine in and it is quite reasonable with those skinny tyres.

+1 - excellent value too - there was a guy in Practical Classics who had put a Suzuki Liana engine in one - apparently an absolute hoot... Thankfully he had upgraded the brakes too - discs all round .... was certainly thought provoking :)

Seems to show corrosion on tailgate at beginning of the video, but not later on ?
