Nope ... I read it right through and he's absolutely SICKENINGLY correct.

The lady doesn't NEED the Def 90, even if she WANTS it.

May have been working in Dartford Tunnel. I've seen Landrovers there escorting fuel tankers & "GF" is a local plate. They would go through the tunnel & probably down to the next junction (A13) & go back over bridge - round trip of about 5 miles (ish).

A fuel tanker with 8,000 gallons of petrol going on fire in the tunnel would be something. What difference would it make to have a LandRover driving in front of it?

That's apart from stopping the tanker driver from getting his foot down to get the burning tanker out of the bloody tunnel .... if it was me in the tanker and the Landrover tried to get in my way or stop me I would blast it right out of the way.

44 tonnes of tanker versus two ton Landy ... no contest.

how would a "cunning trader" get round the fact that the MOT has been computerized for some time, so the true mileage will have been recorded on numerous occasions
"Sorry mate, no I dont have any of the old MOT Certs, utility people just chuck the cars into auction, we get them as is....... I'll put a fresh 'ticket' on it for you though for when you collect if you buy, cant say farer than that can I?"

And while VOSPA may have three or four years of MOT mileages on the computer, unless you are the registered keeper, they wont release the data to you..... so you dont find out its not a 90K example until after you have paid the money, & then go grumble you get pointed at the {Not Warranted Correct} disclaimer against the mileage on the invoice.....

Shout, and the traders defence would be, "its an ex-commercial, clock could have been changed 'at some point, but even if not, on a commercial like this mileage isn't necesserily indication of condition, vehicle could have been run many hours 'idling' on stand-by, or powering plant, it has a Power-Take-Off unit, like a tractor"

or is cunning trader an endearing term for a robbing barsteward ?

Its all relative, innit? Whose the bigger robber? Gordon Brown, or a 2nd hand car dealer deressing up an old dog to help get a few extra quid for it ;-)

 Don't put the poor girl off. I don't NEED a Landrover but I have always wanted the iconic series/90 shape. I wanted one so much I made sacrifices to have it and it may be a money drain but isn't WANT the reason we all own Landies not need because it it were need then we'd be on the Slitty forum.

We're not trying to put the girl off, Meds,

WANTING an 'iconic' Landy is fine and dandy, but in this case, she'd be a dang site better off getting a slitty to set up her business and get some money coming in.

Nothing stopping her using the 'change' from what she suggested spending on the 90 she had seen on an SIII play-thing.

Or waiting a little while until, with luck, the sandwhich business paying for itself, using profits to get herself a Land-Rover, either a 90 or 'custom' LWB vending waggon. (as my original advice)

That's not putting the girl off the idea, its just a case of prioratising the needs and wants.

 Whoa - :hijacked: you might want to introduce yourself first and then post this in the Freebie section. You'll get more help in there.

Teflon is right. If it was 2k i would have bought it in a flash..

I do own two vintage Bedford CF campers . I have plenty of back up when it comes to fixing old vans...
the van i wanted to buy was this one but i missed it coz someone went with only 2.5K cash and bought himself a bargain...
ebay number : 270485727660

if you wanna have a look at the truck, here is one of them on ebay right now

220528646417

it was my other half who suggested it would make a wicked sandwich van. wouldnt have taken any cash for me to convert it for hot and cold food. plus its a pretty cool ride
it is a good buy for someone else correct but i will be getting my hands on one at some point..(have you been to a festy a foot deep in mud? a car aint gonna cut it).. dont really want to buy any car off my brother in law anyway.

thanks guys
