It's a motorized flap in the exhaust which sieze up, Milligan's auto on YouTube has done couple videos about them on other cars, he managed to free them off by removing the motor and lubing the flap if you think yours is broken think you got no choice but to replace it.

Must confess when questions are asked and there isn’t any plse or thk u I simply won’t reply as if they can’t be bothered to have basic manners then why should any of us go out our way to help
Plus there are many here who are extremely knowledgeable with things that can’t be found in workshop or service manuals
Funny enough watched an interview with Simon cowell who said the same thing

It was drummed into us growing up. Manners cost nothing. Even when paying for help I say please and thank you. I probably say it much more than necessary when getting free help or advice. It also means people will help you again.
Yep same here in having manners instilled in me , Including elbows off the table or opening a door for a lady , sorry side tracked as per usual
But indeed manners cost nothing and seems that many just can’t be bothered

Progressive child centred education, kids brought up to each think they are the centre of the world plus mothers at work so no energy for training kids.Yep same here in having manners instilled in me , Including elbows off the table or opening a door for a lady , sorry side tracked as per usual
