As mentioned last week I've just had one of the subwoofers replaced. With a unit that was stated to be working on removal. The Golden Girl and ai are several hours from the garage so no simple solution to the issue I now find. Namely, no sound from either subwoofer 😔
Would anyone know if there is possibly a simple cause/solution. I am restricted as I can't climb around in the boot and pull panels .
Any ideas/help much appreciated 😁👍

Your Sincerely
A broken hearted blast the music out loud lover

What do you mean by no sound? I think the subwoofer is just rubbish. I believe mine is working I've had eyes on it and can see the speaker isn't damaged and moves in and out when music is playing, but sat in the driver's seat and adjusting the subwoofer level from min to max, there's no audible difference

Maybe a different set up, but my subwoofer , even with one speaker blown could have blasted you into outer space. However now there is no sound from either of them. It's a giant of a thing so sound can definitely be heard when working. The boot is a safe place for your eardrums. Which was not the case previously. 🤷‍♀️

P.s forgot to answer. no sound means exactly that. Neither subwoofer (100W RMS each) are producing sound.

You need a "live in mechanic" lodger 🤔😜

I went out to my car earlier and pulled the side panel off in the boot.
Definitely, the subwoofer is overwhelmed by the mid? range speakers in the rear pillars. I plugged in a usb with sub woofer test audio mp3 on it

According to RAVE you must have the Logic7 as the basic one doesn't show a sub. The sub seems to be fed from the same amp as the other speakers so my guess is the mechanic hasn't connected it properly or it's knackered. I would be trying the old one again but I know you can't.

Thanks. I wonder why the replacement not working would stop both working? 🤔
She is going back to the clever guys next month, so I guess I live with it as is for now. I mean she still has a good sound coming out, the subwoofers are just a bonus for those like myself who are 'turn it up to 11' types 🤣
I have bought yet another replacement unit. So the guys will have plenty to play about with. Even if it is a case of taking a speaker from one of the replacement units to replace the speaker with the blown cone fom the original unit.

If they are wired in series and the replacement has a broken wire it will stop both. If they are in parallel and one is short circuit it will also stop the both. Either way you would need a multimeter to test it.

Oooooo that's interesting. Methinks I might just spend some time taking a non-damaged speaker out of the unit I just bought, and put it in the original unit. Then the one thing I can do is done and saves the guys one little job. It also means the original unit , which is known to be fine can go back.
The info is much appreciated 😁👍
