Hi Landy Folks,
I have a Britpart Alternator AMR4249 that the box has the number 19081712 on it also.
It's for my 1996 Defender 90 (RHD, No A/C). I am looking for the correct matching pully. The the stock Land Rover Alternator, on the truck now, it's pully has a larger hole in the center than the Britpart.

Nothing on the Britpart web page other than a picture.

Cheers.

Correct, it did not come with a Pully, that maybe because Britpart stocks the same Alt for different models (300tdi, 200 tdi, A/C no A/C etc.) as I think there are different size pullys based on what belt i used. My 300tdi just has one long belt.
The alternator was making a lot of noise last weekend and it was shaking the mount. At first I thought the water pump had gone, Took the belt off and I could feel that the pully had play in it. Once off, it was oblivious that the pully or bearing was bad. I had the old Land Rover alt so I wrestled with getting the pully off the britpart one (had to grind some flats on a socket so I could hold it with an hex key going through the socket. Once off, the pully looked ok and the shaft on the alt looked ok but the nut that holds the pully on the shaft had it's corners warn off (explains the metal dust in that area). It was aligned correctly but lose. I should have put a micrometer on the two alt shafts before putting the on. I can spec the Britpart one and then see if I can find a pully with the same ID and OD.
