Gearbox Jerky at Idle

In my 1972 series III whenever the gearbox is in gear and engine at idle the vehicle consistently jerks forwards over and over instead of smoothly providing drive. It does this in both high and low range meaning my foot has to be on the throttle at all times when driving on or off road. Could anyone point me at things that could be the cause of this issue?

She had new props with new UJ’s 500 miles ago, will definitely check props but anything else spring to mind?

Jack one wheel up, see how much you can turn it. With all wheels on the floor, how far can you turn the prop (handbrake released and out of gear) make sure it's secure and won't run you over

Worse in 1st & 2nd but happens in all gears, she’s a 2.25 petrol

Full metal throttle linkage - no cable sadly + you could balance a 50pence piece on that engine whilst she runs, super smooth

How about wear in the throttle linkages.. ours would tickover lovely when stationary, take it for a drive and it would be erratic again, all down to worn linkages.

Are the individual sections of linkages moving smoothly without stickiness, you would need to disconnect them to test though

I’ll take a look when back off my holiday, she’s due a service so I’ll grease everything up and clean thoroughly at service
