Some good news. The specialist came back with a clean ticket on me Tratter head, so it can go back on in the next few days.

Got around to cleaning the hob last night at about 0200. (This morn, OK!)
Found out that an offcut of laminate worktop and Cif would do the job and suprisingly easily too. Now looks as good a it ever did.
(Mrs @kevstar may like to know this!!)
The pan is another matter.Stainless steel.
Found out I hadn't replaced the batt in the smoke alarm, big smack on head. When one goes if I don't have a spare batt I leave the lid open and dangling, must have not done this for some reason..
Rain and wind overnight, better now.
Have a good day folks!![]()
I also may have caused the end of our induction hob.
I hate the flipping things anyway.
W is too ill to want to eat so, as often happens, I was doing my dins.
Put a pan on a ring on the hob with oil in it to start cooking my veg. Then got distracted. Forgot it. Eventually smelt burning.
Why the smoke alarm didn't go off I have no idea, I will have to test and maybe replace it.
Pan bottom inside coated with black sticky stuff. Under it burnt kitchen paper, hob protector that seems alright then another layer of burnt kitchen paper. The ring has a layer of burnt on stuff on it. No idea if I'll be able to clean it off this time.
I have promised W that if it can't be cleaned up I'll buy her a better one.
TBH it ain't up to much. If you ask it to use 3 rings it don't like it. We have never tried 4 rings!! AEG. Forget it!![]()
