hello, our 2004 defender (110 td5 15p with manual transmission) has ecu labelled with 2 part numbers. One one end of diecast casing has label NNN500020. Another label on the aluminium cover is NNW501300 and that label also shows the vehicle VIN. Please can anyone cast some light on the possible clash? I have read that NNN500020 is an appropriate number for the vehicle’s ecu. Hope someone can help, please.

NNW501300 is the software file installed on your ECU.
Thank you, Tim! Also wondering about a spare but NNN500020’s seem to be scarce. Is anything else suitable, if so, what type of conversion would be needed? Hope you, or someone, can help on this, please?

New ECUs not available only used. Prices varying greatly. There are some companies about who will modify a Td5 ECU to make them suitable to use on other versions of TD5s which they were not built for. Never used one and I have no recomendations sorry. I have had an ECU rebuilt at,
ECU Testing LTD.

Very good company to deal with.
