Morning all,

The breather on my front axle is knackered, I suspect the rear breather is too - I've got a 1990 Defender 110 that started life as a V8 (Salisbury on the rear) - can anyone advise the part number for the breathers?

Also, what's the correct oil for the axles? I figure I might as well give the old girl some fresh oil while I'm at it.

Thanks in advance,

EP 80/90 oil. Axle breather kits available on line. Chasing part numbers for items like this can be a pain. Check with supplier if sutable.

I believe the breathers are a 1/8BSP fitting.
I use 8mm PU tubing and push fit connectors.

(There are other sellers)

I'm in the middle of fitting this to both axles and the gear/transfer boxes too.
Consequently I have removed the old 'breathers' which I can send you if you want to stay with the original style ?

How are yours 'knackered' ?

Axle oil is EP80W-90

Thanks - the breather pipe is missing on the front axle and I think it's blocked up, there was a little bit of pressure when I opened the filler plug and a bit of leaking.

The rear axle seems OK and the breather pipe is intact, but I thought it best to do both at once.
