Done the UJs on front prop and got recon rear prop and have a vibration problem.
The yolks on the rear prop do not line up, they are half a spline out.
I've been told that the front prop yolks should be 30 deg offset , is this the case ?

Need to sort vibration out but have to be sure of what needs doing as I,m disabled and it takes me all day to take both props off and most of the next day to put em back, if you see what I mean :)

The yolks aren't meant to line up landowner, they were designed to be like that. Did you split the shafts when ye were doin' the uj's? there should be alignment marks on the sliding bit and the shaft, make doubley sure these are lined up properly. If your props have gaiters that are held on with jubilee clips then make sure ye put the screw bit on top and the other one below to keep the balance.
Hope that helps a little;) :D

Get the two yokes and line them up as close as you can, then put them together, thats the way they are meant to go, slightly out as BB said.

Regarding the gaitors and lining things up, don't bother, they put little pieces of steel on the propshaft to "balance" it a bit, they rust and fall off its a joke. They are big lumps of steel, its on a landrover, its not a jet engine, it won't make the slightest bit of difference.

Right, Ta.:)

I'll take the back one off weekend and see if I can find any marks. Makes sense as they will have marked them after balancing I spose.

Running front prop only didn't produce any vibes so it must be the back or my knackered t/b box.
One of the back UJs was very tight and ran warm when I first put it on so could be faulty.
cheers :)
