I was after some history on my 1958 series 2a 88" landie. Does any one out there have any info on him since birth
Pic reg number? clues of any kind gladly accepted.
1958 will be a 2 and not a 2a.
I was thought I had a 2 but been told by others it a 2A. It has the original engine and Chassis No's RSY 633Pic reg number? clues of any kind gladly accepted.

Many thanks, Will doTry the Motor Industry Heritage Trust at Gaydon. They’ll have details on the original spec and potentially where it was supplied to for sale. This might provide a starting point.
The series 2 club is also a good bet. It might be known there or a previous owner a member too.
Thank youHello and welcome
Series 2s have a 2 litre engine. Series 2as have a 2286 cc engine. Look up the engine number on your engine on the Glencoyne site.I was thought I had a 2 but been told by others it a 2A. It has the original engine and Chassis No's RSY 633
If that is the original engine, it is a Series 2a. But it may not be, so look it up.many thank I will. mine engine is a 2286cc as stated in the log book.
I think only the 1st year or two of the s2 had the 2 litre diesel engine, not sure on petrol versions?Series 2s have a 2 litre engine. Series 2as have a 2286 cc engine. Look up the engine number on your engine on the Glencoyne site.
That radiator is a true early flat top style, lots of people say they have a flat top rad when in fact they have the later version which is wider with angled ends on the rad top tank, wider rad may tie in with the later larger engines?I was thought I had a 2 but been told by others it a 2A. 2 litres are gutless. Diesels worst, but petrol not much better.I think only the 1st year or two of the s2 had the 2 litre diesel engine, not sure on petrol versions?
Iirc 2 litre petrol is V expensive to rebuild, so people fit the 2.25 instead.
