The brake reservoir is filled to the top line with the engine running. When you turn off and leave it, the level will rise way above max. The system cannot recognise air in the system.
Apart from the leak off pipes, the other common leakage point is the top O ring on the FIP, had to swap it on both mine. If you are unlucky, the O ring on the next level down also leaks sometimes.

Yeah, that's how I filled it. I am guessing last place just left engine off and filled to depressurised max. Got plenty of fluid now.
By top oring, you mean the cover for fuel return, or deeper down where it gets into fuel metering and whatnot?

Top O ring is the one under the rectangular top cover on the FIP. Removing it does not affect any adjustments. There is one bolt with a special head, the usual trick is to hammer a 7mm multi hex socket on to it and replace it when reassembling with a allen head bolt.
Make sure all is clean before removal.
My LHD just failed the MOT due to a leak from that O ring. I didn't see it because a power steering hose had failed earlier covering everything with ATF.

Checked up on the mpg as decided by the dash computer, 25mpg over half a tank, mostly A roads but some stuck in commuter traffic.
Need to do a brim to brim, i know traffic doesn't do not any good but 25 seems a bit low?

Have you seen how many oil types there are
You need to get it out on a good run to keep the noses on the infectors clean and get it all super hot

I think I had to clear that with Nanocom. Or maybe it takes a few cycles of the ignition.

I’ve swopped out the bulbs for new ones. Fault persists. Nano won’t talk to srs ECU. A post block dry and in good condition. Could be battery voltage, so might try a new battery. I’ll disconnect all the yellow sockets and clean up whilst the battery is off. The fault developed over time as srs light would come on for 10 mins every journey then go out developing into a perm issue. 2 months to MOT so need to get this sorted.

SRS is often the connector under the seat.

Today was UJ day. The black dust you see near the socket is what was left of the bearings from the end cap on the floor. Probably why it had a bit of knock about it.

Absolutely hated the clips to keep the caps in. Never thought I'd see the day when I appreciated circlips. Topped off my brake juice too, flagged up yesterday on the way to work that it was low. I can only assume the place that sorted my ABS (which is currently broken again thanks to flood water) didn't know to charge the pump first, so although it was on "max", once ignition was on it quickly dropped below minimum. I was really hopeful that it would've fixed my ABS fault, but not to be. Unless it needs bleeding because air has got trapped inside? Does it even know how to recognise that?

Still stalls when at idle, especially during gear changes, although not as badly since I replaced all the spill off pipe with Gates. Has a strong smell of diesel about it though, so I assume I may have a leak somewhere that could be causing the stalling. Just can't find any signs of a leak other than the liberal coating of engine oil around the engine bay.

Sure that's engine oil and not diesel from behind the FIP?

Check very carefully for brake fluid, especially if the brake lines are original. Back of the fuel-tank is favourite place to go and hard to spot unless you're under it (with stands etc).

The diesel is no better than the petrol if your foot is heavy. That's not bad for a 3 ton v8.

Not a heavy foot but i don't dawdle at 35mph and i do spin the second turbo at least once every drive

Who has an l322 with a fbh remote? Do you ever use it? Taken the battery out of mine so it won't go flat over summer. Used it a couple of times when it was really cold, just because i could nice not to have to wait for the screen to clear

Yes, But dont use it often as dont go out early or we put the cover on it if we know its gonna be really bad.
Have used it a few times and yes its great just to look out the front window push the button, then come back finish the cuppa and get ready to go.
Since I have retyred we dont have to leave the house at stupid O clock, so it really dont get used now.
