I've not used it in anger, but it does connect to the car and seems functional. I'll wait for it to come back from the garage before i start tinkering.

New car (to me) paid a huge amount for it and effectively carless again.. because of the dealer i bought from.. no sir, you'll not be getting an online review

Anybody ever bother cleaning turbo intercooler and associated pipes? Seems they get their fair share of oil, which i expect would reduce efficiency?

Every 10k miles, at least. Expect a thin film of oil unless it hasn't been done in a while. Breathers too if it has done over 50k. I guess yours is new enough ti have that fangled EGR thingy. That's prone to gumming up.

If i understand correctly, getting the radiator off is a 'front off' job.. didn't look like a quick job.. assume it's never been done, yes will have egr, think that's also hard to remove

Believe its sandwiched between the radiator and the AC condensor. Yep EGR hidden in the V:)

Probably. Modern car designed by committee.

Did this committee consist of blind peeps and a box of crayons? cos it seems like it sometimes;).
