What did you do with your Range Rover today

I did think fuel pump but it said control rather than lack of pressure.

Is yours the one with multiple pumps?

Yes unfortunately. After I cleared the faults I just kept getting the pre-fuel pressure control.
When we disconnected the inlet pipe to the fuel filter now't came out with the ignition on until we used the alignment tool

Mine too, last minute panic as I found one main beam not working. On any other car, that would be a duff bulb but not on a Range Rover, it was a corroded multiplug

It failed New testing crew, miserable git I've seen before who claimed my Transit was too rusty to pass, it wasn't.
He found a small diesel weap on the engine side of the FIP that I had not seen, fair enough, with the previous crew that would have been an advisory.
He also decided that the left hand head light was UK spec not EU, since it has passed on the 2 previous occasions I was not best pleased about that
Because of the diesel leak he refused to do the emissions test.
I have a spare FIP but it will have to wait until I have done the starter motor on the Transit. I find it hard working in these very low temperatures.

Weep from pump? Might just need nipping up and cleaning down with brake cleaner They're generally pretty good unless the high-pressure pipes are under tension.

Depends where it's leaking from I think. I can't see where the leak is for the moment. Leaking O rings seem to be a common problem, I had to do them on my other P38.

Not moved the seat but I've had this a few times and diags always comes back with battery disconnect unit, a quick fiddle around the yellow connector generally fixes it.

Cleared the fault with the Foxwell a couple of times and it came straight back, messed with the yellow plug on the battery disconnect unit and job jobbed.

Thought you meant the pipes. Yes, the pump seal failures are common.

Damn it. They are becoming more and more strict on the older vehicles now here Keith. At one point they'd pass anything and now they are getting more keen... Sorry dude..

It seams the power that be in both country's dont want old cars on the road, but for construction of a motor to be worthwhile it needs to be on the road atleast 15 years.

The headlight is the strange thing, it has passed no problem previously.
It's the first time in 22 years I have had a car fail

It seams the power that be in both country's dont want old cars on the road, but for construction of a motor to be worthwhile it needs to be on the road atleast 15 years.

It's twisted logic, it's fine to take a petrol guzzling 5 litre super charged V8 into ULEZ as long as it's fairly new but not an older 1.6litrre fuel efficient car
If there was real concern about pollution and climate change, these over size engines would be banned as would over powered inefficient EV's which just move the pollution to where it is out of sight so out of mind.
Scrapping an old car and making a new one makes more pollution than I will make with my P38 in what is left of my life.
I am now sure it's all about economics, keeping the car industry busy.

It's only ever been about politics and money, that actual, real environment doesn't matter so long as the politicians and big business look good.. making you think you feel good too because you pay green tax
