Got a series 3 109 2.5 diesel that only had about 3 feet of bodged/welded/rusted off pipe from manifold down, got new exhaust system but unsure which way it's routed, seen various routes on google images, seems to show going through gap above transfer box mount on some, but no room to thread exhaust pipe thru, some thru round hole in middle chassis crossmember.
Any photos/ advice appreciated

Different vehicles had different exhausts.
As he says ^^^^^^^, that isn't a standard engine.
You need to find out what engine your vehicle had originally, and get an exhaust for that, it may have originally been a 2.6 petrol.
One thing I can say with certainty is that the exhaust will not go through any holes in the chassis.

Your best bet is probably going to be to get the right system, but without a downpipe.
Fit the exhaust, and then you can measure up for a downpipe, which you may have to fabricate, or use flexible exhaust pipe.

Thanks, my suspicion is that originally it was a stage 1 (braking system, position of front grill, long bonnet & few other little bits,) that was converted to diesel early in it's life by MOD, engine & manifold position looks identical to other standard L/R diesels i've seen online.
Gonna try & find out history & possibly convert back to stage 1 v8 if it was originally.
Would be helpful if other diesel 109's could send photos of underneath & exhaust routing to give me some idea, as well as any info on finding MOD original history please.

Post some clear pictures of the vehicle, and we can probably tell you what it was.

Thanks, will do, if anyone can add photos of underneath series diesel's either 109 or LWB to show exhaust route please.
