The wheels must be out of balance! If the old ones were fine, and everything else fits OK - either that or by coincidence you have suddenly develloped a UJ problem as well. Are they new wheels - and if not, are you sure they're not buckled somehow?
the fitter re-ballanced them, dun know about the buckled bit,he ballanced them on the machine in his q-fit van, could he have noticed if they were buckled?

he could have upset the pre loads on his swivels ...... different offset un all that crap .... or check the back of the wheels to make sure they are clean of any crap and theys sat flush , if ya get me drift ....
wire brushed the back of them got all the crap off

i doubt he would have been able to balance them if they wer buckled .....

i would check there all seated proper and that yer nuts are done up good ( not too tight tho ), i cant think of any other reason for them to wobble that bad ...

Tyre side walls could be fooked I had a fiesta that did that, turned out that the previous owner was a woman with a nasty habit of kerbing the wheels and she'd knackered the plies in the side walls

If the side walls collapsing as it's been driven It can. and if it hasn't split the rubber it's almost impossible to see. you can get someone to walk along side the landy at slow speed and watch for the side wall bulging as it goes round.

you need to make sure that the stud measurment / dimensions are the same fer whatever they came off and the motor you put them on .... cos i still think they aint seated proper ...

i'll have to check the tyre sidewalls, they do all look ok but they might be fooked inside,2 of the tyres are slightly worn on the outside edge as though the were driven on a bus with bad tracking.
cheers for all the help/advice

i'll get him to check everything again to make sure they are ballanced and seated correctly
cheers

had the wheel seating checked again, said everything looked ok,put the old steel rims back on had no problems(drove fine)
gunna put the alloys on and get a mechanic to have a test and see what he can come up with.bast**d machine

hi mate had prob after 110 parked up for 6 months tyres had gone oval due to lack of use , looked ok but couldnt drive in straight line ! how old are your tyres ? get them checked on wheel balance machine slowly rotated against a pointer

not too sure on the tyre age,but he checked them and everythink was ok

But if they've been properly balanced on a proper machine then any wobbly with the wheels/tyres should show up on that! Either the balancing machine is iffy or the problem ain't with yer wheels, which might mean lookin at yer bearings, hubs, etc and the problem being accentuated by the different offset of your wheels.

Like wot LRB sed earlier
