Hi
Aware that I’ve not jumped on the forum in ages but….
Anyone Hampshire based please be aware
Last night bout 9.15 I’m hearing clattering outside so I bowl out of the workshop to find two guys helping themselves to my headlights indicators headlight surrounds obviously not thinking of any consequences I ran at them yelling and chased them (bare foot on flinty clay ground) off up the foot path till they vaulted a gate and I slipped on wet grass I also don’t have a vault in me
They had come armed with a steering wheel on them as I remove mine but for whatever reason something stopped them trying to take car so they went for parts instead. They left me with a headlight and an indicator and trashed some of my loom doing it.
All parts were aftermarket led upgrades headlight surrounds were a heritage kit by uproar 4x4 and they’d started on the front grill also not standard. by the look of the route they took out over the field they been coming and going a bit watching which in all honesty makes me feel a bit sick as I think I disturbed them 2 nights ago as the dog kicked off when I took her out at 11pm
So keep your eyes open if you have aftermarket bits both guys were over 6’ wearing your usual thieving arse attire and were pretty swift over a fence although not sure they had factored a bare foot hippy running after them (probably shouldn’t have confronted) the police didn’t want to know as I didn’t get camera footage or pics of faces.

Sorry to hear this. Glad they ran instead of opting for a bundle, as some would have done, but they weren’t expecting to be disturbed. Thieving scumbags.

Where in Hampshire was it?

Fit security screws. And an alarm that has vibration and interior sensing.

When removing the lights/surround they can also disable the horn so the alarm becomes useless.

I recommend the ring floodlight cameras, if anyones snooping about at night/daytime you will be made aware of it instantly on your phone, there’s also built in sirens as well which is a cool feature

Its sad that there are a lot of these types of incidences...In my opinion this happens because there are some people who would purchase parts that are sold for a cheaper price which sometimes could be dodgy (some of them could actually be stolen). :(

Agreed, I've seen plenty of parts for sale when shopping which are dubiously cheap......

That is what is driving the thefts. People buying parts from dubious sources who aren’t aware or don’t care about where the parts come from.
