Thanks for the add to this forum.
My son and I, just bought a 1977 Series Land Rover model 109. We have never owned a Land Rover and thought that joining this forum, will be a good start to take care of this Landy which we called Rosie :)

Can anyone please help us find a site, from which we can identify the original color scheme of this Land Rover and whether it was military? according to a site i found, 450 of this 109 model were built in 1977.

Also would appreciate if you can also help us to download the original owner/ workshop manual.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome looks good , where in Malta are you, this site has the workshop manual and parts book

Thanks for the welcome and link to the workshop manual, Steve. Much appreciated. I live in Bahrija, a small village some two miles from Rabat/ Mdina.
Do you have an idea from where I can get the original paint scheme of Rosie? Also is there a reliable on-line shop for Land Rover parts? Grazzi :)

Not far from popeye’s village very nice , I would inspect the car to find correct colour, to find areas which might not have been painted ,ie inside door panels , behind dash etc before actually rubbing down the top paint to see what’s underneath, there would be only a limited range of colours
The few times I’ve been in Malta I know they like their classic cars and old land rovers so I would join a local LR forum and ask on there for local suppliers

Popeye village would be around 15 to 20 mins away. we are closer to Fomm ir-rih and Gnejna Bay. Yeah I already checked a bit. The colors I found where light blue and white, which I do not think it was the original paint scheme. I will check with local enthusiasts and maybe check with the manufacturer. I thought that there is some site which relates the VIN to the color scheme. Anyway thanks again.

I don’t Think the vin plates tell you colours like modern vehicles have, it has the space but no info and mines an 84 , under the vin plate I should have mentioned too as I think this would have been painted round
This site has various pages of chassis , engine numbers etc
