I want to replace the fuel lines in the landy. I am having an injection pump issue at the moment and the lines are in need of replacing anyway so I want to go clear as it could help me if the IP fault is in fact an air ingress fault. I have seen a few vehicles – namely the Renault Kangoo – with clear plastic fuel lines and they look quite good not to mention the fact you can at a glance see air bubbles, lack of fuel & dirt.

I have the standard fuel filter assembly as fitted to a 2.5N/A so first question is, are these unions 1/2" UNF?

Say I wanted to come out of the filter on a 1/2" UNF to hose barb, and then go in clear plastic does anyone know what I would need pipe wise, also where can these things all be bought, I have been looking on the internet for ages, and no amount of searching will show me clear plastic pipe and the relevant fittings.

Try truck and trailer components, used to get coils of all sorts of pipe, never saw clear tho, but you can see the fuel ok in the white stuff. "used to use it for syphoning"

Any connections I ever made I put an insert into the pipe first giving the olive a better grip.

I bought some on ebay. 10mm outside dia, 8mm inside dia, and some that was 8mm OD 6mm ID, which did the 2 diameter pipes on Edith.

You get it in various colours and clear - about 18 quid for 30m. Flexible nylon.

Alternatively, DieselVeg sells the stuff as it's good to have clear when commissioning a veg system.
