Things I have to do today:
1. Build a 12' x 6' high roof shed

What I'm actually doing today:
1. Just come in for lunch :)
2. Building a 12' x 6' high roof shed where shed parts are of unequal length and requiring much modification

Note to self - next time build all panels at home, don't buy kit :mad:
That's a job I'll probably be doing next summer. Running out of storage space for all my tat.

The previous garden bits shed that I inherited when I bought the old gaff was near falling down, so been wanting a new wood erection for some time. Really, I should have made a new shed from scratch...it's so much easier as not having to rectify someone else's mistakes. These days most sheds arrive in panel sections, here's problem #1 as under assembly they provide zero rigidity. By far the best way is to build a simple shed frame, add roof/gable supports [min 3x], build T&G floor, then clad with T&G, and finally in-situ T&G roof. Finish off with plywood to inner panels for rigidity.

And please don't mention the roof...:(

Couldn't agree more. I made mine 12 x 8 x 8 from 4 x 2 timber with Shiplap cladding and ply-lined. OSB roof sheets with a rubber roof on the top. It is going to see me out.

Just been looking at options for a 12x20 for behind my garage, materials are through the roof at the mo and shed kits are as rare as, well, pick anything... people wanting over 3k for a pile of shiplap and osb

Vtrue re'material costs and sheds. I paid £1399 for mine delivered, T&G all round/no OSB. I found deal of the century if anyone's looking for premium grade loam soil. Travis Perkins offer bulk bags at ~£96/600ltr bag...but in their description offer 72 x 20l bags at the same price :. 1440ltrs [!]

Bulk bag @16.11p/ltr
72 x 20ltr bags@ 6.7p/ltr

I needed ~2.5tonnes and saved a good few beer tokens:)

Today has been a bit of a mare. We got up early and drove down to Aylesbury so we could spend the day with the grand children. Once we were there we got a call to say the eldest is sick and not to come :(
So we spent some time with the in laws and came back. 250 miles round trip and over five hours driving. I am knackered now, chat tomorrow :)

Good day today.
Got to Barf in plenty of time.;)
Had a lovely lunch then the theatre was good. :)The actors who are household names were excellent, charging through the excellent fast, funny dialogue with perfect timing. The young ones tripped up occasionally.;)
The sets were brilliant too.:)
Had a bit of a wait in a very long queue for the bus to get back to the park'n'ride but amazingly still got on it when it arrived. Back ome by 7 p.m. :)
So Wifey in bed and I'll be up soon.
Sleep tite folks!!!:):):)
