Hey, im in need of replacing the ac belt, so i am therefore also replacing the other one, due to oil leaking onto the belts, oups.

So i bought a water pump just to get that done at the same time as the belt, i obviously didnt pay attention when buying it (guess what)

plastic impeller.

Forgot to buy the metal one :(
Should i get a metal one and fit that instead, or is my Britpart plastic impeller waterpump good enough?

(Yes i've heard about ****part)
It's from brookwells.

Also my engine makes this weird sound which mostly happends in rainy days, so i guess thats just the fan belts?? it is fluctuating with rpm, idle and driving. (goes away when warm engine)

Its not a pulley is it?

I bought the laser 32 & 36 mm spanner. I suppose thats all i need for removing the viscous fan? i hold the pulley with the old fanbelt whilst demounting right?

Is the weird sound the viscous fan? I guess it could be the aircon belt. That has a little offset pulley that can just about be adjusted from underneath without touching anything else.

Personally I would send the plastic pump back, especially with it being Britpart.

Thread on fan is reverse thread for the diesel so watch out for that or you'll be there a long while. A knock with a hammer to shock it off is sometimes required.

I can't seem to "noise" locate it more than that its from the belts/fan area
Note it usually only does this if the belt has been wet by rain or smth. And it does not happend all the time.

I have another thread were im going to go more deep into the issue off my cooling issues.
I will purchase a metal impeller pump.

Fun fact, it appears i've gotten delivered the wrong water pump from Brookwell. Odd, as i didn't even find a britpart water pump on their site
I bought an Allmakes metal impeller pump.
I've contacted support, hopefully ill get sent the new one, but since i live in Norway and shipping is expensive i wonder if they will actually give me the correct one?

You might find they're the same company. I lose track of who owns who.

I could probably buy it from you, as long as you can ship it to Norway ofcourse, shipping is expensive tho i assume. I’ll wait to see what brookwell says about my wrong one. @Rubberknees

As your RR has reached that age when rubber seals begin to let go, I would also recommend changing the heater pipe o-ring and the thermostat housing o-ring while you are in there, it will give you future piece of mind.

changed the heater rings for a month ago :)
Will do thermostat and o ring while doing waterpump.

Okay will find it out and put some photos on so you can see it. Will enquire and see what shipping to Norway is like. If its too much might be better sticking with what you have but keep an eye on it

As promised a couple of pics. But I've been quoted £52 to ship to Norway so may not be viable for you, sorry

I think @Mark Piercy knows a few European sites in Poland and so forth that might be cheaper in the Eurozone. Before Brexit I often found sites in Germany that were strangely competitive.
