Got an issue with my 2004 110 XS.

Intermittent starting fault, totally random and I cant replicate.

On occasion it will take a good 20 seconds to start, cranks fine then sounds like its trying to fire but cant quite get there. Eventually does start though.

Hot or cold doesnt matter. Strangest part is it will start fine, usually in the morning, do 40miles on the mway, then I stop for coffee and its hard to start again.

Injector seals where done last year, roughly 10k ago. Genuine LR

Starter 3 years ago, Denso
Alternator 2 years ago, Denso.
Battery is charging - 14.4v when running also have split charge. Both batteries charging as they should.

Fuel filter housing is GORE 4 years old. Filter is 3 months old, Mahle.

MPG remains the same. Not leaking fuel as far as I can tell.

FPR is around a year old - genuine LR as well.

Fuel pump is a bit noisy but still working.

Any other suggestions?

ECU Capacitors braking down, not giving right signals to injectors, just a thought? @sierrafery will be along soon enough with words of wisdom

can you run live data when cranking?

Hmmm i have got a spare Lucas one I can try. I think the current one is either second land Genuine LR or intermotor.

Totally forgot about the cps. Ill swap that tomorrow. See if it changes.

Right pain with the cps now. 4 years ago a genuine LR part could be had for £70 now its £200+!!

what make is the LR Gen one?

Replaced the crank sensor with a genuine Lucas one. Appeared to have solved the issue for a couple days.

Now its back. To the point where i have to leave it in stage 2 until the pump goes quiet, the start it with my foot to the floor. If I let off at all it chuggs and dies.

Im going to change the FP this week, probably sunday. Hope for the best.

If not can only think it must be the seals going again

maybe sling a new injector harness in for good measure? blow out the connector etc?
Its like the Budgie, cheap....

Fixed! Well at least I hope.

Changed the injector seals again for genuine LR in LR packaging. Fired up straight away. All starting issues are gone.

I suspect the previous seals where G rated but not gen LR.

Not to bad of a job really, still a bit nerve rackinh having to remove the cam carrier!

Were the previous ones genuine in Britpart packaging (DA2479LR)? If so they are meant to be genuine just in BP packaging

Ok so continuing on....

It appears the fault is starting to reappear. Similar but not identical. Im 100% certain I fitted all the seals correctly, I cleaned out each pocket with clean lint free rag. From what I could see the pockets looked good however could have missed a hairline crack.

Any other symptoms from a cracked injector pocket?
