:(

somehow my rad has spewed coolant out over the front grill. there was a small damp patch which is now a fair bit bigger. only seems to have used a little bit of water and it is not running hot.

Do i have to replace the rad? are the ones from paddock ****? who would you recommend? could it be repaired? bearing in mind 4weeks in Morocco in October, so would rather go with an effective cooling system... and finally, would i be a dick to try and drive to the Eastnor show and back next weekend? (75mile each way)

thoughts/suggestions.

Thanks again

If it was a stone and there is a hole in it then repair it but odds on its fookin rottin so,

You can repair them if its ok and the core is not rotted to fook, and you are good at soldering, or stick it in and get it repaired, or get a new core fitted, a recon unit, you can get a radiator that has a bigger core for better cooling.

Dunt stick radweld in it's ****e, do it properly.

cheers dave,

no good at soldering. how much would a new core be? looking at paddocks a new rad is around £110, looking at the manual it looks fairly easy to replace. would i have to remove the fan and cowl? the manual says yes, but you know what haynes are like! its a 300tdi.

anyone got a link to ally sports website? suppose they would do uprated rads

they're a piece of **** to change Griffy. you need to remove the cowl, but not the fan.
while yer at it, give yer intercooler a good clean out and check yer hoses and replace any that look tired.

if the leak is from one of the tubes, do wot we used to with the rally cars as a temp measure until we could get them changed at service, just take a pair of long nosed pliers and crimp the tube either side of the leak, always works.

cheers tre, will order one up soon then :) doubt i will get it in time for the weekend though :(

Any good radiator repair shops will have one off the shelf, take yer old one in and exchange it, remember them fookin plastic plugs are ****e so fit metal ones. Off to a plumbers merchant.

I have one here you can have, BRAND new, in its box, not ****part, from craddocks. PM me if your intrested.
