Still having a slight issue
intermittent limp, seems to only happen under low load at about 2000rpm

will reset by turning ignition off then back on, for a while

Will cruise without issue at 70 on dual carriageway

What car?
Have you tried reading fault codes?
2004 freelander td4, no codes being given
It broke down due to a delaminated turbo outlet pipe last month, fixed the pipe but since then have been having the engine light come on( at least 8 times within a 32 mile drive), kinda goes into a limp mode the clears itself when ignition is turned off and back on, not really enjoying doing this at 50mph

is your fuel pump and filter ok as mine did this and that,s what it turned out to be and since then i have had no touching wood lights on at all every time i went out i would dread it and the wife would sat get another one like a freelander 2 but i love my f1 td4 auto hse and did not want to part with it and son in law suggested he change the pump and filter for me so i got a good one and a good filter and now it is heaven .

I’ve ordered a new filter, will give it a try

Changed the pump and filter under the rear wheel arch, it does seem a tad better, however it still threw a couple of lights (engine with the ! Symbol)
could the in tank primary be causing the problem

if the low pressure pump be under wheel arch .. then there's no in-tank pump [afaik]

try :
disconnecting the maf sensor .. if it runs better like that .. replace the maf ..
[ a faulty maf usualy causes issues under 2000rpm
[ and doesn't illuminate the dash warning light afaik
& ..
giving the fuel rail sensor plug / socket a good clean ..
[ note : .. corrosion can also affect the wiring harness ]
water ingress to that plug be a known issue ..
that LR fixed by offering an upgraded plug 'n harness ..
[ only small voltage thru that circuit .. 5v down to millivolts ]

Update:

after the initial breakdown I replaced the turbo solenoid before I went on to discover that my turbo to intercooler hose had delaminated, the hose had caused the breakdown

I have now refitted the original solenoid and the car runs fine

new pump is a little noisy but working

so it turned out to be a dodgy eBay solenoid
