The Disco saved the LR mark. It'll tow anything a Defender will, it'll go as far off road too, it is more comfy, and faster on long journeys, and it's load-carrying capacity is better than a Defender as the whole back door area opens, so you can get bigger things in.
So there, yah boo sucks! ;););););)

EDIT, somehow managed to log on to this thread and found myself on page 3 or so without realising. so this post is well, weird.

Yer can easily create yer own short cuts on yer desktop.

Yer gorra virus checker running onnit?
Second point is a good one. At the mo i am just disconnecting it from tinternet so it can't pick any bugs up.
I do have, when I can find it, a good seperate hard drive sort of data storage thing I can use to transfer lots of folder/files one in one go.
It came with all my desktop shortcuts on, he put it in a folder called "old desktop" but it don't seem to connect to f all, as I don't expect many of the programs are running on the new pooter.
What I will do is shove one or two example files of each type and then see what will open them. then if I cannot do it easily, I'll have to think again.
Some progs I may be able to download off tinternet. I suppose.
Others I dunno. I don't know if it is possible to copy progs running on Windows 8 to a Windows 10 machine, whether they would work or whether they would simply bugre summat up.
Google is my friend to a certain extent.
I will have to buy a virus checker for it anyway before I start doing any of this.
I also have a big hard drive back up thing running all the time which automatically stores a copy of anything I produce, which isn't very intuitive to use, but in some ways I'd quite like to see if it would be possible to use it to shove copies of all my data on the new pooter. It's a WD My Book Live, if that means anything to anyone!
All good fun!:mad::mad::mad::mad:

Edit, nothing wrong with your first point either, but I can do that, even thick old me. Didn't mean to be rude or nuffin!

I think you mean storage ;)

A Terabyte of memory would be impressive on a home computer.

Sorry, couldn't resist.
Mate, I can't tell computer terminology from a hole in the wall, nowadays. (Can't believe I was once the IT coordinator for two faculties, that was a long time ago.)
The old machine, a Samsung notebook, was kinda top of the range back in the day. It just looks as if it has been through the blitz now, held together with packing tape and the keyboard no longer working. And I don't mind Windows 8 either. So I'd love for someone to have just stuck my old hard drive and whatever else it needs in a new pooter with a working keyboard and screen. :(:(:(

I have put another load in the washing machine, damn I am a domesticated dude :)
My God, your Mrs has granted you your Washing Machine Driving Licence!!!!????
Did you have to go on a simulator and all that stuff? Have you got your "Advanced Stain Recognition and Removal" ticket too?
I am only allowed on ours with dual controls!:D:D:D:D

Well hello folks.
Stan and Mrs St, were up before 9 a.m. today, a Sunday. not often that happens!!!
Weather seems cooler than yessdi.
She is gardening while I is looking after my pesky leg and frigging around with pooters.:mad::mad::mad::mad:
Bit like cars for some people. Love them when they are working, hate them when they are not. :(:(:(
Have a lovely long weekend, what is left of it!:):):):)

I just put everything on program 9 and be done with it :) she is glad of a relinquishing of a household chore!

@Stanleysteamer

Yer new phooter has probably gorra ssd hard drive which is much faster. Hence why it will be smaller in technology size. 1 terra bite is 1000 gigga bite.

Yer can look in the control panel to see what programs are already installed. Stuff that works on win 8 will work on win 10.

Yer old phooter... If its not going to be used yer can use the old antivirus license on yer new phooter, if its still gottid time remaining onnit. If not then buy a cooy of avg internet security, online and install

...I have managed to finish a 1st coat of black barn paint on the mini-barn.
I like it. :) I may put another coat on next week. I have used just over 1/2 of the £80 (5Litre) tin.
Being rough-sawn feather-edge it rather soaks it up I think.

Mate, you are so helpful.:):):):)
I will take all you say into account and act on it.;);)
The new one has 300 gig roughly. I have looked at how much space my existing files take up and they should fit into this. Just. But I will take it carefully and not try to put too much on in one go.
As I now have a phone (Alcatel android) which works ont internet. I'll have to get a virus thing that works on more than one machine, unlike the one I already have .
I have also thought about putting some files on another hard drive or even onto Disc, does anyone do this nowadays?
I think I might also have access to some sort of a cloud. No idea if that is a good idea or not, nor what it costs. All stuff for me to research.;););)
Cheers again mate!!!:):):)

I like this, it has a sort of Mid-western vibe going.:):):)
Sort of expected to see gramps outside it in his rocking chair, in dungarees with a shot gun across his knees!;););)
Best of luck with it all!:):):)

Well, that was a cracker of a day.
