Done my good deeds for the day.
Went and fetched the neighbours' broken air-filter top, (on rapid inspection it was obvious to me and his Mrs that it had been bruked and badly repaired before so felt not guilty, yer onour!) fecked about with it, cleaned it all up with blade and acetone, made a holding device then glued it back together with JB Weld. All three corners at once.
Took the screw that was rusty as feck and wouldn't take a Phillips head driver, cleaned the rust off it with blade, wire brush and hacksaw blade, then took it int garridge and sawed a screwdriver slot in the top.
Then went ont internet to look for a new/secondhand one. They is rare as rocking horse do-dos:rolleyes:
Found one on the Bay for £22.50 P & P included so sent the link and phoned his Mrs, (He was out all this time playing squash. He has slight mental health issues, linked to anxiety attacks. So his Mrs informed me) So she has ordered it and it will arrive Thursday, giving me time to see if my repair will hold.
Honestly do not know what the pr@tt was doing, whoever he was, when he broke it. He seems to have screwed it down like mad with the filter not properly fitted, enough to break 3 corners off:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::mad::mad::mad:
Anyway we'll see. Got his Mrs to give me a better description of whatever the initial running problem is. Apparently it is uneven/jerky running when creeping along in low gear.
Will have to dig deeper.
Just getting to know these neighbours as they are quite new and a lot of the time since they've been here we have either been away or we have been stuck with Covid.
Wrapped Wifey's burfday pressie. Must nip out and buy a card.
Champagne and decent white in the fridge ready for Satday night!
Have a lovely weekend folks!:):):):):):):)
