Wet … and cold. I don't mind the rain as long as as 'he' remembers when to turn the tap off. Today's big bonus is ….. no wind. As I write the sun pops out and gives me a smile, promising to come back later when it will stick around for the rest of the day, so I'm 'appy.

The recent rain has given ma hippo a reasonable wash. Parked next to me castle so one side int as clean as the other. Burd poop washed oft anorl as eye sprayed him wiv slippy stuff last time eye washed him.

Nice and Sunny here, but cool in the wind when the Sun goes in.
3Ton of type 1 to lay today ...Gulp! My knee is NOT looking forward to it.
More than 3 days of work here I think.
Once this is in its mixer time baby! We have a top-surface of fancy paving to lay on top.
Oh, and we need to get a covered gutter-drain installed too!
Far too much work for just the 2 of us when one of us is an old crock like me.

Afternoon folks

Just back from the big boy town. had to arrange the cash for the new toy, for Friday pickup.

Stopped in our local BnQ equivalent for a few odd & sods. Then had an early tea and a beer down at the Port complex sat outside, was lovely

Got home and have finally spotted our Orioles, we have been hearing them making alot of noise last few days but managed to see them today looks like there looks to be 2 pairs and the reason for the noise is the pairing off and sorting territory.

Got a phone call from sis-in-law this afternoon, can I take a look at her car - its making an intermittent bonging noise when she's driving. Will have a look tomorrow. Top of the list of suspects is her shopping bag on the passenger seat not wearing a seat belt.

Just back from the garden of despair.
4T (not 3T) of Type 1 shovelled out of the 1Ton bags into the barrow and then taken round the back, dumped, raked and Whacker-plated.
All basically levelled up and a definite improvement.

We had to hire a trailer to get the extra Ton of Type 1 because the builders merchant could not deliver until Saturday.
The place we hired it from (£100 deposit and £40 for the day) was RAF (Rough As Fcuk). 2 Pikeys in sweat-shirts and trainer bottoms that looked like they had not been washed for about 6 months.
Like a breakers yard with loads of scrap engines everywhere. Made me think of our friends in Sunbeam St.
After unloading all the Type 1 we then drove off to another builders merchants to get all the grid-drains and pipework etc. etc.
Then pulled the trailer round to my house and parked it on my drive with the Rangie blocking its escape. Couldn't leave it at my lads because that's Pikey Central and it would not be there in the morning if we did.
I'm knackered. Time for a few drinks and to cook myself some dinner.

It is a dial indicator on a magnetic base for use with my mini-lathe.
Cheap as chips @ £15.99 for both items.
I have a 10mm x 0.01mm "plunger" dial indicator as well, this is more for checking run-out.
I saw someone using one of these little stands on a U-Tube channel and I thought it worked very well.

Yep, they are good. They are based on the Noga design. I have one and the magnet on mine is not brilliant but good enough to check run out and on my mill I use it to tram in the vice.
