Early OneTen roof rack/gutters.

A friend is wanting to buy a used Brownchurch roof rack for his ‘83 OneTen. I know the roof gutters changed from steel to ally around “86. Did this affect the fitting of roof racks? I.e I know the Brownchurch would fit my ‘87, but would it fit his ‘83 the same?

I’ve got a Brownchurch roof rack on my 1989 90 and it’s a clamp-on model. I don’t see any issue with fitting to earlier models unless you buy a rack that needs the gutters drilling for it to be bolted on. It would be harder to drill but would probably be stronger for a bolt-on rack.
