What did you do with your Range Rover today

I bought them from Rimmer bros in the end £113 all in pads anorl!

Don't know why the front brakes are so expensive the rear discs and pads are 1/2 the price!

I meant the ones that are delaminating

I have the receipt from the PO who payed a garage to overhaul the brakes and a full service £749 IT CAME TO!!

He payed £30 per disc so mid range?

El-cheapos are around £20 on rimmers, but they were out of stock!

I ordered brembo from ECP late last year. Think it came to just under £200 for discs and pads all round.

I got the britpart specials, drilled... Had them 4yrs and 50,000mls so far. Second set of pads on them.

how did you find the hd clutch? I’m hoping to push a fair bit more than standard so wanted something that could handle the torque.

Didn't really notice any difference to be honest.

Rears are about half the size?!

Changed the front dampers (shock absorbers) on Buttercup today, nearly everything went to plan, all the turret nuts came free mind you they had a soaking of plusgas a couple of weeks ago. The only problems I had were the fiddle of getting the new damper into the L/H turret/coil - forking air-con in the way so couldn't lift the turret clear - just went in after I compressed the damper and kept it tight with half a dozen tie wraps, but it was a bit touch and go for a minute. And on the same side I had to drill and then chisel the bottom nut to free it off, should I be in the position to need to do it again all threads had a dose of copperslip. Britparts finest, gas charged dampers, fitted them before without problems on other Landrovers.
All told 3 and a bit hours not rushing it so happy bunny.

I poked around underneath and the front disc OSF is delaminating.

When it comes to brakes its always best practice to replace for new. They ain't expensive compared to yours or some one else's life at the end of the day so your doing good to fit new buddy. I got a full set of drilled/grooved discs and new pads all 4 corners for £159 delivered to my door. Excellent quality too as well as looking smarter through the wheels. I never managed to fit them on my Westminster but they will be going on my 4.6 once it arrives.

wish brakes weren't so eggspensive for my bike!!
caliper piston and seals, £20 each... theres 12 of them on the front wheel!
front discs, £300 for a pair
calipers, £800 for a pair

Looked at mine out the window an she is still sitting at off road height, so a result so far with the new bags
i will hopefully take it for a drive later and see how they feel.

Realised probably have bearings letting go on the back wheel. Whenever I put load through the right side I hear grinding and the discs are showing signs of rubbing. Which is just what I need. Weirdly you'd think there would be more warning before things got this bad. Unless the fault is something else masquerading as failing bearings? Ah P38 ownership, never a dull moment. I'll just continue to look longingly out of the window at it.

I wouldn't expect a wheel bearing to impact on the caliper/disk alignment as they are both bolted to the same bit

Yeah i'm not one to skimp on brakes, seeing as I tow a fair few tons and nowt feels worse than warped brakes when fully loaded!

Hard to see the distortion but the disc itself does feel bad.

???? the disc is attached to the hub that contains the wheel bearing so if the bearing is fecked then the disc will wobble about like a cock in a three cornered hat.

Just reread,it's the rear but the halfshaft will still be out of alignment if the bearing is shot
