Yer may remember about a week ago me boiler fused spur were buzzin. Eye like taking fings apart. This be the switching contacts inside me buzzin fused spur. Yer can see it's a double pole switch un the left one is burnt wiv a carbon build up. Replaced wiv a plug socket but eye will gerra unswitched socket soon ferrit.

Me too.
Though sometimes violently. Finding the bits after for reassembly can be a bit of a problem. I need to be more zen sometimes..
Don't know how old you are compared to me, but I used to do that for a long time, but with time calmed down a bit and learned how to take things apart without breaking them, OR if I did break them it was intentionally, i.e. i ground things off or sheared bolts off intentionally!
But then I started working with watches.
They is SOOOOO delicate, it started all over again! "Oops, there goes the mainspring!" etc

While ago eye were talking about using me watta butts to feed me jet washer to wash ma hippo. Problem is the hose pipe supplying the watta sometimes carries bubbles wiv the watta. Sometimes the pipe falls oft anorl so the air needs purged oat. Annoying when yer need to keep bleeding oat the air to stop me jet washer running dry and the occasional air bubbles make it spit un lose pressure. So eye has built meself an air filter tank. Top 2 hoses feed it wiv watta from me watta butts. Bottom one feeds me jet washer. Any air from me watta butts floats to the top so me jet washer gets a continuous feed of watta. Only had one input hose before un that weren't feeding enuff watta so eye has now fitted a second input hose. If yer only gottid one the jet washer sunks on the container too hard and it shrinks int volumn. Yer can see int pic at the top the air starting to build up. Now eye has proved it wurks eye will get hold of a stronger air tight tub un make a betterer one. At the moment some of the oles leak a bit as they int cut as good as they need ter be.

67 vintage mate, and I am getting better at it. Am learning to see it coming.
An then sometimes I don't care.. :D

Our kit gets blamed for failure through dodgy switchin. Bad / flakey contact?
The metal plates should have a firm constant contact for lowest resistance. Any slight loss of pressure causes the contacts to not push together as firm as they need to be. Heat will start to build up. Slow at first but gerrin worser over time. Contacts will then start to age quicker so yer start to get some carbon build up as the lectric doesn't have a firm contact path to travel through. As time goes by the contact gets worser. More carbon build up anorl so the connection gets worser. The worser it gets... the betterer chance of hearing buzzin as the lectric jumps across the contact as the gap gets biggerer and/or dirty-er. With more heat and more corbon build up... fings continue to move in the direction of total failure or gerrin too hot and set fire. Can start like this with the plastic not applying enough pressure to the metal plates to give a constant good contact or the plates being deformed. The spur was on a ring. The ring itse;lf and connection to it was ok. It was only the output from the spur effected.
